The challenge
RSET Ernakulam needed a CTF that could handle inter-collegiate scale - dozens of teams, mixed skill levels, and the expectation that participants would attempt to share flags or collude. Traditional CTF platforms either lack live anti-cheat visibility or require substantial self-hosting overhead.
CYBERCOM delivered the event as a fully managed engagement: one platform for registration, challenge delivery, scoring, and monitoring - with zero self-hosting burden on the faculty team.
What changed
The anti-cheat system's live dashboard gave organizers visibility into submission timing anomalies and flag reuse patterns as they happened - not after the event in a log review. Suspicious submissions were flagged in real time, letting faculty make disqualification decisions mid-event rather than post-hoc.
Per-participant scorecards - challenge categories, solve counts, time-to-solve - gave the faculty team exportable evidence of actual skill, not just a leaderboard position. That data is now reusable for placement screening without running another assessment.
